VR Experience and Dialogue
From Story to Space is a 2-hour interactive workshop that explores how narratives shape the way we see ourselves and others. Through guided reflection, accessible storytelling tools, pair exchange, and a VR drawing session, participants experiment with reframing stories from new perspectives. Instead of focusing on literal life events, the workshop invites participants to work with inner feelings, symbolic stories, and emotional worlds. VR serves as a creative medium to visualize emotions and transformations spatially, offering a unique way to express what may be difficult to put into words. The workshop is designed as an open, respectful, and empowering space for women with migrant background.
The workshop aims to empower participants to reflect on narratives and perspective, and to creatively reframe a story through symbolic and emotional expression.

Alexandra Tamayo is a storytelling and experience designer originally from Ecuador. With a B.A. in Environmental Communication & Documentary Film and an M.A. in Digital Narratives (International Film School Cologne), she develops hybrid narrative formats that combine technology, participation, and meaning. Her work intentionally breaks the boundaries of conventional media formats and technologies, creating spaces where people can learn, reflect, and act together. She focuses on value-based, collaborative storytelling: stories that strengthen community, provide guidance, and make transformation tangible.

From Story to Space ist ein zweistündiger interaktiver Workshop, der untersucht, wie Narrative die Art und Weise prägen, wie wir uns selbst und andere wahrnehmen. Durch angeleitete Reflexion, leicht zugängliche Storytelling-Methoden, Austausch in Zweiergesprächen sowie eine VR-Zeichensession experimentieren die Teilnehmenden damit, Geschichten aus neuen Perspektiven zu betrachten und neu zu rahmen.
Anstatt sich auf konkrete Lebensereignisse zu konzentrieren, lädt der Workshop dazu ein, mit inneren Gefühlen, symbolischen Geschichten und emotionalen Erfahrungswelten zu arbeiten. Virtual Reality dient dabei als kreatives Medium, um Emotionen und Transformationen räumlich sichtbar zu machen und eröffnet eine besondere Möglichkeit, Dinge auszudrücken, die sich nur schwer in Worte fassen lassen.
Der Workshop ist als offener, respektvoller und empowernder Raum für Frauen konzipiert.

Alexandra Tamayo ist Storytelling- und Experience-Designerin und stammt ursprünglich aus Ecuador. Mit einem B.A. in Umweltkommunikation & Dokumentarfilm und einem M.A. in Digital Narratives (Internationale Filmschule Köln) entwickelt sie hybride Erzählformate, die Technologie, Teilhabe und Sinn verbinden. Ihre Arbeiten durchbrechen bewusst die Grenzen konventioneller Medienformate und – technologien und schaffen Räume, in denen Menschen gemeinsam lernen, reflektieren und handeln. Dabei fokussiert sie sich auf ein wertebasiertes, kollaboratives Erzählen: Geschichten, die Gemeinschaft stärken, Orientierung geben und Transformation spürbar machen.
